Who makes Priya PPC and what is in it
Priya Cement is a brand of Rain Cements Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rain Industries. The company makes its cement at two integrated plants, in Suryapet (Telangana) and Nandyal (Andhra Pradesh), so Priya bags reach Chennai from across the state border rather than from a Tamil Nadu kiln.
Rain describes Priya PPC as a blended cement made by grinding clinker, gypsum and fly ash together, with fly ash at 15–35% of the cement. Its product page tests it against the IS 1489 (Part 1):2015 requirements and notes that it is GreenPro certified. That edition and code are what to look for on the bag.
Because PPC is not sold by 43 or 53 grade, a seller who calls this “Priya 43 grade PPC” is mixing two standards. Under IS 1489 every PPC has the same minimum: 33 MPa at 28 days.
Where Rain says Priya PPC fits
- Houses and commercial buildings, including masonry work
- Deep foundations and mass concrete
- Water-retaining structures, sewage and water-treatment work
- Marine structures — Rain lists chloride and sulphate resistance among its features
- For roof slabs and columns, use the grade your structural engineer specifies; Priya also sells OPC 53 (see the price comparison above)

Priya PPC questions we get
Neither. Grades 33, 43 and 53 belong to OPC under IS 269. Priya PPC is tested by Rain against IS 1489 (Part 1):2015, which sets one strength class for all PPC: at least 33 MPa at 28 days.
Rain Cements makes Priya cement at its integrated plants in Suryapet, Telangana and Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh. It is not a Tamil Nadu brand, which is why its Chennai price can move with freight.
PPC replaces part of the clinker with fly ash (15–35% in Priya PPC, by Rain’s figures), and clinker is the costly part of cement. Our price record shows the gap between the two Priya grades each day.
